Very impressive!  Crystals, gold, and artifacts!  Gee, what else are you going to surprise us with next?  Keep up the good work!

Excellent collection!

That's a lot of nice specimens!

How'd you get so many?

Wow, Thanks for all the pics of your artifact finds, Fire!
I love looking at local, (NC), collections!
Of course, just the three in the center of pic 2 would make me Very happy!
I would call the center one a Cumberland. Would you agree?
Cumberlands are about my favorite point type and Cumberlands made of rhyolite are pretty darn rare!
How long ago did you find it?
And the Clovis or Redstone is pretty hard to beat, too!
Very Nice! Smiley

Eighth pic down, bottom left hand corner, is a Big Sandy or Kirk made from some
real interesting material that I occasionally find around here.
I'm kindof surprised to see a piece of it in a collection from your area.

Thanks again for all the pics,
Keep on Huntin'
Joe

Most of them were found locally here in NC, mostly Randolph Co, and a few from Montgomery co, Guilford Co, Chatham Co and Davidson Co.
I've walked a lot of tobaccco fields  Wink
Some were bought or given to me.
But most of them were found.
The Cumberland and Clovis I bought from a guy who's great grandfather had passed away, He found them in his great grandfather's stuff.
The one in the bottom left hand corner of pic #8 was given to me, a friend bought it for my birthday from a local antique shop, so I'm not really sure what area it's from

The 2 in the last picture were found while gold prospecting in a river, dug both of them up out of the same hole

Tobacco fields - huh?  No wonder I'm having no luck - I've been looking in creeks!

It's an amazing collection. I drool over pic 3 - like looking at a juicy steak - and pic 8 should be on display somewhere!

Thanks for posting.  Now I'm going to meet me some tobacco farmers...

cheers,

Yeah tobacco fields are great because they're plowed and formed in rows that are easy to walk once the tobacco has been harvested. You can find arrowheads just sitting right on top of the ground (especially a few days after a good rain storm)

I have also found them in creeks on the gravel bars, and some were even dug up while gold prospecting ( the spearhead in the last pic was found this way in a river)

The most recent point I found was on the dirt lifted up by the roots of a fallen tree (always check these)
